The Pilates Standard Mat Program
The Pilates Standard Mat work training program consists of 100 hours and contains 4 modules.
1. INTRO TO MAT
This is the basis for all of our training programs. You will learn 21 beginner exercises & become familiar with The Pilates Standard teaching components (philosophy, teaching method, and class structure).
2. IDEAL MAT
You will learn the idea level excercises on the Mat and how to incorporate them into the intro to Mat sequence. This course will improve your ability to teach people of all pages and fitness levels.
3. BASIC ANATOMY & ORTHOPEDIC FUNDAMENTALS
Knowing how to teach clients with chronic injuries and/or specific illnesses is integral in the daily work of a pilates professional. This course cover how to modify a Mat class for participants with health issues. Symptoms will be explained and the appropriate modifications most commonly applied to: spinal conditions such as herniated discs, protruded discs, scoliosis etc. This practical content is of great relevance when integrated with physical therapy.
4. CHALLENGE MAT
The focus of this course is on the challenge level exercises on the Mat, basic bia mechanical priciples and complex Powerhouse Action. Additionally, you will learn sophisticated variations and explore exercises from different angles and perspectives. Challenge Mat also focuses on teaching components, especially in the areas of cuing and flow, essential for cultivating the teaching skills necessary for the apparatus training.

EXAM & CERTIFICATION
Must complete all 4 modules & pass the final exams
One final test and one retest is included in the program fee.
There is a charge for any additional testing beyond the retest
(max 3 tests per Mat program)
Prior to course: 10 pilates sessions
After weekend 1: 10 pilates sessions
Between weekend 2 & 3: 10 pilates sessions
Between weekend 3 & 4: 10 pilates sessions
